Nitro coffee has been on the scene for a while now and growing in popularity, especially during warmer months. But, for those of you who haven’t come across this new coffee creation yet and want to know more, we’ve put together this quick guide to nitro coffee.
As you can guess from the name, Nitro coffee is iced coffee that’s been infused with nitrogen. Whilst it’s a new method for coffee brewing, injecting drinks with gas isn’t a completely new idea i.e sparkling water and fizzy pop. However, instead of using CO2 to create a bubble, fizzy drink, Nitrogen is used for an entirely different result.
The nitrogen infusion effects both the taste and texture of the coffee, giving it a foamy, beer-like quality that tastes almost creamy, even when served black.
You can also expect a crisp, sweeter taste than you’d get from regular cold brewed coffee, even without the addition of milk or sugar, making this drink a much healthier beverage choice. Perfect for health aficionados.
Nitro coffee is also very strong, with the caffeine hitting you much faster than ordinary coffee and is a cool pick-me-up for balmy summer days.Have you tried Nitro coffee yet? Share your thoughts with us on Twitter @CoffeeMastersUK!
