Summer Coffee Trends Roundup

Over the past 3 years of the Coffee Masters blog, we’ve seen some truly wonderful and downright strange coffee trends come and go. We’ve seen (and tried) everything from edible coffee cups and cold brew to avocado lattes.

To help you stay up to date on the hottest (and coolest) summer coffee trends we’ve put together our Summer Coffee Trends Roundup featuring some of our favourites!

  • Cold Brew Coffee

Cold brew coffee is always a huge favourite in warmer months. It’s cool, refreshing and full of flavour. If cold brew coffee is your go-to summer drink, be sure to check out our last blog, full to the brim with the best cold brew coffee drinks to enjoy this summer!

  • Speciality Coffee

Unique, high-quality and creative coffee is what everyone wants. Long gone are the days when a poor, badly made cup of coffee was enough to get you through the day. People now want coffee that not only tastes great, but looks great too! Don’t be afraid to experiment with flavours, toppings, latte art and presentation to achieve something truly original.

  • Mushroom Coffee

No, we’re not talking about the type of mushroom that’ll send you falling down the rabbit hole! Mushroom coffee uses a blend of chaga mushrooms and coffee that doesn’t taste much different than your usual brew but is packed full of anti-oxidents and minerals to provide a bigger boost to your day!

  • Nitro Cold Brew

Have you ever wished for a cool, smooth beer-like coffee on a hot summers day? Well, your wish has been granted. Made with regular cold brew coffee that’s been infused with nitrogen, nitro cold brew delivers a velvety smooth drink with a creamy beer-like head, on tap.

  • Turbo G&T

Sticking with the alcohol theme, Sheffield’s’ Rafters Restaurant have created this amazing gin and coffee combo! Make your own by adding 10ml of cold brew coffee to a measure of gin, add the tonic and then garnish with lemon. Then sit back, put your feet up and enjoy!

  • Egg Coffee (a.k.a Vietnamese Egg Coffee)

Egg coffee simply replaces milk with whisked egg yolks for a much creamier drink that is thick and sweet, more suited to desert than breakfast.

As always, we’ve saved the best for last!

  • Coffee in a Cone!

Yes, that really is coffee in an ice cream (a.k.a waffle) cone.

A genius company in Johannesburg, South Africa have concocted this incredible creation that contains everything you could possibly love about summer; ice cream cones, chocolate and coffee, all in one!
