November is World Vegan Month, the time we come together to celebrate how far the vegan movement has come since it first began back in 1944. If you’re still not sure of the difference between vegetarianism and veganism, let’s break it down:
- Vegetarians don’t eat meat.
- Vegans don’t eat or use any animal products.
If you missed World Vegan Day on November 1st, there’s still plenty you can do to get involved during the rest of the month. The Vegan Society website has some fantastic ideas to get you started, as well as advice for those of you thinking about going vegan.
It’s now more accessible than ever before to live a vegan lifestyle with the majority of cafe’s, restaurants and supermarkets providing vegan options.
When it comes to drinks, you can’t really go wrong. Coffee and tea can be enjoyed black or with a dairy substitute such as soy or coconut milk. You can also enjoy fruit smoothies, chai and dairy-free hot chocolate.
